| GARP |
( Unix Linux ) |
GARP (Genetic Algorithm for Rule-set
Production) uses a genetic algorithm to automate the use of
environmental data collected through field surveys to produce
distribution maps and models. This method has been largely applied to
predicting the distribution of species of animals and plants but can
potentially predict any observable environmental entity
| MULTIPLE
SEQUENCE ALIGNMENT BY GENETIC ALGORITHM |
( Unix ) |
This parallel system, the combination
of a genetic algorithm and an iterative alignment algorithm, produces
better results than iterative aligners which employ hill-climbing
search strategies
| NNUGA |
( Unix Linux ) |
In NNUGA, we are using GA to find the
solution to a classification problem with a neural network (NN). The
neural network is a structure which is able to respond with True (1)
or False (0) to a given input vector. We are trying to
"teach" our neural network to correctly classify a set of
input vectors, which can be thought of as learning a concept. We then
expect that when the neural network will be presented with a vector P
not from this set, it will tend to exhibit generalization by
responding with an output similar to target vectors for input vectors
close to the previously unseen input vector P.
| PGAPACK |
( Unix Linux ) |
PGAPack is a general-purpose,
data-structure-neutral, parallel genetic algorithm library. It is
intended to provide most capabilities desired in a genetic algorithm
library, in an integrated, seamless, and portable manner.
| SPLICER |
( Unix Linux ) |
Splicer is a genetic algorithm tool
which can be used to solve search and optimization problems. Genetic
algorithms are adaptive search procedures based loosely on the
processes of natural selection and Darwinian "survival of the
fittest." Splicer provides the underlying framework and structure
for a building a genetic algorithm application
| SUGAL |
( Dos Unix Win3.1 Win95 WinNT Linux
) |
| Sugal [soo-gall] is the SUnderland
Genetic ALgorithm system. The aim of Sugal is to support research and
implementation in Genetic Algorithms on a common software platform.

| GALIB |
( Dos Unix Win3.1 Mac Linux ) |
| GAlib contains a set of C++ genetic
algorithm objects. The library includes tools for using genetic
algorithms to do optimization in any C++ program using any
representation and genetic operators. The documentation includes an
extensive overview of how to implement a genetic algorithm as well as
examples illustrating customizations to the GAlib classes.

| ABALONE |
( Unix ) |
| Welcome to my Abalone page. Abalone is
a sophisticated strategy game played by pushing marbles on a hexagonal
grid. The goal of the game is to push six of your opponent's marbles
off the edge of the board. The game is normally played with two
players, although there are variations for up to six players

| GENERATOR |
( Win3.1 Win95 WinNT ) |
| Generator is a special genetic
algorithm program which can help you solve a wide variety of problems.
It is designed to interact with Microsoft Excel(tm) {English version
only!} for Windows(tm).

BASIC GA STRING MATCHING DEMO |
( ) |
| In the demo a population of strings
evolves to match a target (upper case) string. The demo includes a
variety of graphical displays. Most parameters and displays can be
changed dynamically as the GA runs, click on things and see what
happens!

these packages are archived here at GA Archive, others are maintained
as links. This list is now maintained alphabetically, and by language.

The following is a description of
locally developed GARAGe software that is available for public
distribution. This software is used for all the current work being
done in the lab and is distributed in the hopes that others can take
advantage of our work. Select one of the three packages listed below
